Erasmus+ Student Group Mobility with Bordeaux – Day 2

The second day of our Erasmus+ student group mobility was filled with creativity, cultural experiences and exciting discoveries.

The students began the day working on their projects, recording videos and podcasts to document their experiences and share their learning.

Next, they visited Causey Farm, where they had the opportunity to meet a variety of farm animals, including cattle, hens, geese, pigs, Connemara ponies, goats and donkeys.

The students also took part in a range of traditional Irish activities. During the Bodhrán Session, they learned to play the traditional Irish drum and accompany different rhythms of Irish music, including jigs, polkas and reels.

They then enjoyed a hands-on experience making their own traditional Irish brown soda bread. Afterwards, everyone had the chance to taste their freshly baked bread with butter and jam, accompanied by drinks.

One of the highlights of the day was bog jumping, a firm favourite at Causey Farm! The students loved the unique sensation of squelching through the bog, creating unforgettable memories and sharing plenty of laughter along the way.

The day continued with a visit to Kells town, where the students explored its rich history and cultural heritage by following the historic trail. They visited several important landmarks, including the Round Tower, the High Crosses, St Columba’s House and the Courthouse.

It was another fantastic day of learning, cultural exchange and new experiences, allowing students to discover Irish traditions, explore local heritage and strengthen friendships through shared activities.
