On Tuesday 9th December 45 TY students, who are taking the Equine Module this year, spent the morning at The RACE Academy as guests of HRI and Equip.
During the morning students were given a presentation on the significance of the Horse Racing and Breeding industry to the Irish Economy and heard from one of Irelands top Jockeys, Aine O’Connor.
Following the presentation the students watched some of the horses working out and then had the opportunity to test out their abilities as jockeys by having a go on the horse simulators which are used to help coach future race jockeys at the academy.
Finally everyone got the chance to spend some time meeting some of the 20 horses in the stables.
