Senior Camogie Round 2 Vs. Maynooth CC
The Loreto girls started off strong, moving the ball well around the pitch and putting in great work in defence. Lauren Donegan got the first score over from a free, followed by points from Kate Quinn and Amy Betson. Anna O’Rourke did great work bringing the ball up the pitch and setting up scores for her teammates.
About 12 minutes in, Kaylee Quinn scored a great goal, followed by another point from Kate Quinn. Maynooth fought back and made some good runs down the field, but our defence worked hard to win the ball back. After a few unlucky shots, Kate Quinn got another goal and Lauren Donegan added a point. Maynooth replied with a point before Lauren Cooney got a score just before half-time.
The girls came out strong again in the second half, with great work all over the pitch. Kaylee Quinn scored another goal around 10 minutes in, followed by a point from Kate Quinn. Lauryn Comerford put in a great shift in the full-back line, while Kate Quinn, Kaylee Quinn and Lauren Cooney linked up well to create more scoring chances. Lauren Cooney added another goal, followed by scores from Eva Roe and Kayla Chambers, who found the back of the net. The girls continued to work the ball well from the backline, with Amy Betson adding another point. Maynooth managed to get a goal back, while Lauryn Comerford continued to work hard after moving into midfield and covering loads of ground.
The girls finished out the game with a great team performance, showing plenty of effort, physicality and teamwork throughout. The final score was 5:13-1:03. Well done to all the girls
