Well done to our junior soccer team with a monumental win against Dunboyne today!
The game opened with our very own Troy Parrot (Mia Gaff) who scored a breathtaking 6 goals in the first 10 minutes. She twisted and tangoed around the defenders at ease like no other. With help from fellow attackers – the captivating Charley Coogan and the jet-powered Jane Smyth worked the ball together to add another 2 goals to the tally.
After 6 or 7 minutes Gaff had to come off as her boots were on fire(quite literally!)
2 more goals each by Coogan and the flawless Fionnuala left the girls up 10-0 going into half time.
The break in play allowed some substitutes to enter the playing field.
As Eva Roe entered the field the tone of the game completely changed. Her defensive skills and ball knowledge allowed her to make a pivotal pass up the wing which ended with Conlon shooting. In that moment, time paused, breath held, and beauty chose a path into the top corner.
4 more goals by gaff when she came on along with finished hatrick by Conlon sent the girls home 16-0.
Absolute horseplay girls! Keep up the momentum.
