Principal’s Welcome
‘Women in time to come will do much’
(Mary Ward founder of the Loreto Sisters)
St. Michael’s Loreto Navan can testify throughout its history to have lived up to this motto. The school has served the hinterland of the Boyne Valley and Navan town since 1883. Over 150 years of lived tradition and practised values that provided a milieu of academic excellence and a rounded holistic development of students.
Our committed teaching and ancillary staff espouse the Loreto values of ‘Freedom, Justice, Joy, Sincerity and Truth’. In St Michael's, we recognise the contribution of each and every member of our school community. We strive to ensure that each student will reach her potential and that each staff member will develop and grow in the spirit of learning and collaboration.
The arrival of An Croí (Moderate Class) this year has allowed the charism of Mary Ward to respond to the needs of today. One of the great strengths of our school is the fostering of student leadership, which was very evident to me upon arriving at St Michael's. The girls have shown time and time again that by being given responsibility, they prosper in terms of leadership skills and self-confidence.
St Michael's offers an invitation of welcome to all pupils, past pupils, parents and staff past and present.
Thank you.
