As part of Bike Week 2023, 18 students cycled over 20km from Loreto to Wilkinstown along the old Kingscourt railway line which has recently been opened as part of the new Boyne Valley to Lakeland County Greenway. The sun shone as the group cycled through the town and on to the new greenway which is already awash with wildflowers and humming with birdsong. An ice cream was a welcome treat at Wilkinstown before returning to Blackwater Park for a picnic and an impromptu game of rounders! It was a great morning's activity and it was brilliant to see the bike stand full of bikes today. Hopefully these types of events will encourage more students to choose cycling as their main way of getting to and from school. Many thanks to Meath Local Sports Partnership for their support.
